The hand tool is an instrument of manual operation. Its connection to the mind is as seamless as its action. The tool has been a vehicle of achievement since the first humans walked the earth. Its image is a marker of progress as well as a testament to accomplishment.
These tools, gathered from my father’s plumbing shop, are rich with personal histories. Print media enables me to capture this historical space. Their solitary image on paper is charged with ritual energy. They become venerated documents of their own existence and power.
